Kalamaja is known for its historic low-rise homes. The address selection includes Tööstuse tn 30 (1845, one storey), Niine tn 4 (1885, two storeys), Soo tn 34/2 (1910, three storeys) and Tõllu tn 10 (1930, three storeys). The same neighbourhood also has modern housing: Vibu tn 16 dates from 2014 and Kalaranna tn 8/1 from 2021.

Other parts of the district also have buildings from different decades: Randla tn 30 was built in 1987 and Helme tn 16/1 in 2012. The name Kalamaja or photographs of a building's exterior are therefore not enough to plan installation. We need room dimensions, stair information and details of internal walls following any alterations.

In an apartment with a historic layout, we check recess dimensions, doorway widths and space to lay out long components beforehand. Renovations may have changed floor levels, skirting boards and internal partitions from the original layout. Even for a small wardrobe, this affects how it fits against the wall and whether its doors can open.

For tall shelving, kitchen wall cabinets or shelves, fixings must suit the actual surface underneath. Building age cannot reliably establish the material of every partition. If you know where utilities run or where additional wall lining has been fitted, tell us before installation.

In more recent buildings, including around Kalaranna, it is often easier to assemble large items before arranging the rest of the room. For a wardrobe, we check clearance to the ceiling and doorway; for a bed, space for pull-out drawers; and for a kitchen, actual measurements after finishing work.

When furnishing a whole apartment, we ask for a list by room. Worktop fitting, hanging wall cabinets, adjusting fronts and securing cabinet furniture to walls can be agreed beforehand. This avoids adding important stages only once assembly has started.

In a compact home, the sequence matters: start with a large wardrobe or bed, then the table, bedside units and shelves. If the furniture is for a rental apartment, send the full list with quantities of matching items. We discuss assembly after delivery and check that all required boxes and fittings are on site.

If you plan to reuse existing furniture, tell us whether it has been dismantled and whether the fixings have been kept. Reassembly depends on the condition of the parts and is not always the same job as assembling a new flat-pack set.

Before the visit, give the floor, lift availability, whether the entrance is from the street or courtyard and where a brief unloading stop is possible. Include a photo if the stairwell is narrow or has a difficult turn. Large wardrobe fronts and long worktops need particular attention when being carried inside; we agree carrying and upstairs charges before the visit.

For an estimate, send product links, quantities, the address and a photo of the installation space. Include a plan for a kitchen, measurements for a wardrobe recess, or photos of the components' condition for reassembly. State whether old furniture needs dismantling, wall fixing is required or boxes need carrying.
